Светоотражающая сигнальная лента
Reflective (retroreflective) tape is a type of signal tape that is glued to the surface of various objects, increasing their visibility to the eye at night or in foggy weather. Under the influence of rays from headlights of cars, street lamps and other sources of directional light, such a tape, due to its reflective ability, makes the objects on which it is glued visible.
Statistics show that the use of self-adhesive reflective tape can reduce accidents, that is, increase traffic safety on the roads.
Scope and characteristics of reflective tape
The use of signal reflective tape in order to improve safety is regulated by a number of regulatory documents. According to GOST R 12.4.026-2015, signal marking using such a tape is performed in the form of alternating stripes of contrasting colors: red and white, black and yellow, green and white.
Clause 7.1.2 of this standard prescribes to carry out signal markings on the surfaces of building structures, on elements of buildings, structures, on vehicles, equipment, on the surface of items used to ensure safety.
GOST R 41.104-2002 prescribes the use of reflective material for marking special equipment, long and heavy vehicles and trailers. Retroreflective marking allows you to estimate the size of the vehicle from afar at night and coordinate the movement.
In addition, the tape is used to draw attention to open trenches, road bollards, roadside signs and banners.
A signal tape is made of acrylic, PVC, PET with a thickness of 130 or 300 microns, a highly reflective substance is applied to the surface of the material. The tape is available in widths of 50, 75 and 100 mm, supplied in rollers, on which from 10 to 250 meters of material can be wound.
The material is wear-resistant, not afraid of temperature extremes, humidity and ultraviolet rays. This signal tape retains all its properties for 10–12 years. The adhesive layer provides reliable adhesion to any surface.
Various inscriptions and symbols can be applied to the tape.
