Insulation of windows
Masking tape — one of the best materials for insulating windows before frost. The main advantages of using it are:
- high speed of pasting and ease of work;
- profitability: the cost of the material is affordable for any homeowner;
- easy removal after the end of cold weather: masking tape is quickly removed from the surface, leaving virtually no traces and without damaging the surface of the paintwork.
When buying paper-based adhesive tape, it is important to choose products from trusted manufacturers. In this case, you can be sure that the windows insulated with masking tape will not have to be re-glued.
The technology of gluing windows with adhesive tape
Before pasting, the surface to which the masking tape will be glued must be cleaned or washed, and then wiped dry and allowed to stand for a while so that any remaining moisture evaporates.
If there are wide gaps between window sashes or window and slopes, they must be caulked and only then sealed with tape. For this purpose, it is best to use non-sterile cotton wool or foam rubber. If the gaps are small, you can do without additional insulation.
